WDC has been working relentlessly from 1999 onwards towards empowerment of women. The areas of WDC work include:

• Creating awareness on gender relations
• Economic development through entrepreneurship
• Political empowerment through imparting knowledge on the Panchayat Raj Institutions Promoting leadership skills
• Ensuring that their children receive proper education and to monitor the regularity of their children’s participation in school
• Encouraging women to adopt healthy lifestyles
